The future has never looked better.
It’s the Commodore, but not as you know it. The very clever Series II Commodore still performs like a Holden should, but that performance can now come with fuel economy better than some smaller 4-cylinder cars.
Previous model shown, Z-Series models now available.
LPG
Now available across a range of Sedan, Sportwagon and Ute models including both sports and luxury variants, LPG delivers significantly lower fuel running costs compared to petrol models and lower tailpipe emmissions.
A purpose built engine, optimised to run on dedicated LPG, means geniune Commodore performance and handling is a guarantee.
Bio-ethanol
Bio-ethanol, also known as E85, can contain up to 85% ethanol and 15% petrol. Ethanol is currently derived from sorghum as well as by-products linked to the agricultural production of wheat and sugar. Bio-ethanol also increases vehicle performance.
Next generation production technology promises even greater environmental benefit, as it will derive ethanol directly from everyday household rubbish, substantially reducing landfill at the same time.
SIDI
A breakthrough in V6 engine design, Holden’s Spark Ignition Direct Injection (SIDI) technology produces greater power and smoother power delivery over a broader rev range, with increased fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions.
The 3.0 litre SIDI Direct Injection is far and away the most fuel-efficient V6 engine in its class, yet is still powerful enough to haul a 1.6 tonne tow load with ease.
The 3.6 litre SIDI V6 smoothly delivers, seemingly endless reserves of free-flowing power, plus torque to spare across the range.
AFM
Holden's famed 6.0 litre Gen IV engine features Active Fuel Management (AFM) on automatic transmission equipped SS, SS V-Series and Calais V-Series models. Switching automatcially from eight to four cylinder operation when less engine power is required, it gives you full V8 performance when it's needed, and improved fuel economy when it's not.

Active Select
The choice is yours
If it's absolute control that you want, Active Select gives you all the power. It allows the driver to select gears manually, when the mood strikes. With Holden's 6-speed automatic transmission, Active Select gets even better with improved response times and rev matching capability.
During downshifts, the SIDI Direct Injection increases engines revs to match the speed of the lower gear, meaning smoother and faster gear shifts.
-
Sports Mode
Power on command
Sports shift mode gives you maximum power and responsiveness when it's needed. The transmission delays up shifts, and allows for earlier down shifts, improving vehicle performance and acceleration.
-
Drive Mode
A transmission for all drivers
We're all individuals, even when it comes to our driving style. Holden's 6-speed automatic transmission caters for a diverse range of driving styles, ensuring that gear selection is optimised for you. A bigger ratio range and more gears mean that has more choices to respond to the way you drive.

Petrol like range
Previously Dual Fuel LPG customers had to compromise on the distances they could travel on a single tank of LPG. The all-new LPG Commodore had a clear target to produce 'petrol like range', eliminating distance compromises and making it extremely competitive with its petrol competitors - this has been achieved. For example, the Omega LPG sedan can travel up to 710km* on a single tank. This means less top ups on your next trip.
*Range based on the combined urban/highway driving. Results may vary.
Exceptionally low fuel running costs
You can combat petrol price hikes, with LPG Commodore as it offers exceptionally low fuel running costs. The cost to fill up with LPG is typically at least 30% less expensive than petrol*

Purpose built performance
A transition to gas doesn't compromise the drivability of your Commodore. At its heart is a new, purpose-engineered 3.6L Vapour Injection LPG V6 engine, teamed with new-generation 6-speed automatic transmission, which generates 180kW# of power at 6000 rpm and produces 320Nm# of torque at 2000 rpm. All the while, the purpose bulit LPG Commodore offers improved environmental credentials, achieving a meagre 189 grams of CO2 per kilometre for the LPG Omega sedan.

Even Better LPG integration
The seamless integration of LPG into the vehicle introduces a new 'invisible' tank design. Set below the boot floor it maximises your cargo carrying capacity when an inflator kit is fitted. This means luggage, sports equiment and all your day-to-day necessities can easily be loaded into the vehicle.
Bio-ethanol. The intelligent fuel of the future.
Available across the Petrol Commodore range, you now have the flexibility to run your Commodore on petrol or Bio-ethanol. It's the perfect advance, making Commodore the perfect choice. A cleaner burning energy source that contains up to 85% ethanol, Bio-ethanol not only shrinks emissions, it actually enhances engine performance.
What are the Benefits?

What are the Benefits?
Adapted for Your Driving Conditions
Most V8 cars have more power than owners demand in all conditions. With AFM, owners can save fuel. The Gen IV 6.0L engine saves fuel by using only half of the V8 engine's cylinders and seamlessly reactivating the other cylinders when you need additional power for acceleration or load.
Fuel Efficiency
If you often travel long distances at steady speeds you can expect lower operating costs and fuel-efficiency improvements. You can look forward to gains of up to 1.0 Litre per 100km and potentially more in certain driving conditions. And you can still experience the outstanding power of the Gen IV 6.0L V8 engine when you need it.
Reduced CO2
It's not just fuel that you're conserving. Active Fuel Management reduces Greenhouse Gas emissions to the same extent as it reduces fuel consumption.
Seamless Transition
The engine's Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) is used to balance torque following cylinder deactivation or reactivation. All cylinders are reactivated when you require acceleration or full torque, the transition takes less than 20 milliseconds and is virtually impossible to detect as you drive.
