Capped Price Servicing FAQ

In addition to the 3000Km or 3 month inspection, eligible vehicles with a warranty start date after the 1st of April 2012, are entitled to receive up to the first four standard scheduled services within the first  three years or 60,000Kms (whichever comes first) at the applicable published maximum capped price service price. The program covers all items specified under the standard service schedules for normal operating conditions for each vehicle type specified in the Service and Warranty booklet, including parts, labour, fluids and any applicable workshop charges.

HoldenWise Capped Price Service is effective from the original warranty start date.

HoldenWise Capped Price services can be claimed within a nominated number of months or kilometres of the due service date. If a service is not performed within the defined service time and kilometre period; that service will lapse. Please note that when a service claim period expires, the next Capped Price service period will then be available. Please refer to the terms and conditions for more information.

HoldenWise Capped Price Service entitlements cannot be transferred to any other vehicle. They remain with the vehicle for the duration described above. Additional exclusions may apply; contact your Holden Dealer for customer and vehicle eligibility.

An eligible vehicle's participation in the program will expire upon any of the following occurs:
a) The performance or expiry of all allocated number of standard scheduled services covered under the program;
b) The expiry of 39 months from the original warranty start date;
c) 63, 000Kms being travelled.

  • You must provide a printed quote on company letterhead or business card from another Non-Holden authorised Service Centre.
  • You must present the Holden Dealer with your quote prior to or at the time of booking your vehicle for a service.
  • We can only accept valid quotes that are dated no more than two weeks prior to the service date.
  • The quote must include all aspects of your Holden standard scheduled handbook service.
  • The quoted price must include Holden approved parts and Holden specified lubricants and fluids on a like for like basis.
  • The quoted Service Centre must be located within the same suburb/locality OR within a 10km radius of the participating Holden Dealer.
  • Holden may add or remove vehicles from the program or vary terms of the program from time to time in its discretion without prior notice.
  • Vehicles must be within 3000 km or 90 days of the scheduled standard service deadline to be eligible.

Service Price Guarantee does not apply to:

  • Services quoted which do not exactly match your Holden standard scheduled handbook service.
  • Additional items on a service quotation beyond the scheduled service items listed in your Holden Service and Warranty booklet.
  • Quoted prices from mobile mechanics.
  • Tyres, tyre fitting, wheel balancing and wheel alignment.
  • Service Price Guarantee is not valid in conjunction with any other offers.
  • Scheduled handbook services under the HoldenWise Capped Price Servicing program.
  • Your 7th standard scheduled handbook service and all subsequent services.
  • Fleet, government and rental vehicles.

Holden approved parts are those sold by Holden which are validated and tested to meet Holden's original specifications.

A standard scheduled handbook service includes all service and maintenance items specified in the Holden Service and Warranty Booklet as developed by Holden Engineers for each vehicle.

Quotes for additional service or maintenance items beyond the scheduled items listed in your Holden Service Warranty Booklet are not eligible for the HoldenWise Service Price Guarantee Program. Additional items on a service quote can be completed by Holden Dealers but the HoldenWise Service Price Guarantee is not available on these services.

Check these six vitals each week.

How to check your Tyres

  • 1 Make sure the tyres are cold
  • 4 Check that the pressure is the same as listed on the placard located inside the driver's door
  • 2 Unscrew the valve cap from the tyre
  • 5 If not, adjust accordingly. Repeat for all tyres.
  • 3 Press the gauge onto the valve stem to check pressure

How to check your oil levels

  • 1 Make sure your vehicle is on level ground.
  • 4 Insert again, wait a few seconds before withdrawing the dipstick slowly.
  • 2 The Engine should be warm but allow 10 minutes for
    the oil to settle.
  • 5 Look at the oil level. Check to see if the oil is within the two marks.
  • 3 Simply pull out the dipstick and wipe with a clean cloth.
  • 6 Refer to your owner's handbook to for a full description on how to read the dipstick and how to add oil if required.

How to check your Brake Fluid

  • 1 View the level of Brake fluid through the reservoir without
    taking off the cap.
  • 3 If you notice the fluid level dropping, have the car diagnosed by your Holden Dealer immediately.
  • 2 The fluid should be maintained between the MIN and MAX indicators.
  • 4 Refer to your owners handbook for a full description on how to check your brake fluid level.

How to check your engine coolant

  • 1 Check your Engine Coolant level weekly.
  • 4 Check the coolant when the engine is cold such as before it has been started.
  • 2 Refer to the owner's handbook for information on
    the location of your coolant reservoir and the checking
    procedure.
  • 5 Always use a Holden recommended coolant mixed with the clean fresh water according to the ratio found in the owner's handbook.
  • 3 Never open the cooling system if your engine is hot.

How to top up your Windscreen Washer fluid

  • 1 Always refer to the owner's handbook to locate the washer bottle.
  • 3 Follow the dilution instructions on the bottle for correct amounts.
  • 4 Refit the washer bottle cap.
  • 2 Add a small amount of Optikleen Washer Fluid to washer
    bottle before you top it up with clean water.
  • 5 Check wiper blades and replace if not operating effectively.

How to maintain your air conditioning

  • 1 Switch on your Air Conditioning for a few minutes each
    week, even in winter.
  • 2 If you suffer from hayfever, check with your Holden Dealer if your car can get a Pollen Filter installed.

Washing your vehicle

  • Avoid automatic washes, as the soap is often too harsh
  • Wash once a week
  • Do not wash in direct sunlight
  • Begin washing by hosing your car with cold water
  • Use a gentle detergent in warm water
  • Soak bird droppings with a wet sponge before washing off
  • Wash a small section at a time and rinse with cold water. Do not allow liquid to dry before washing off that section
  • Dry with a good quality chamois
Please be aware of any water restrictions in your area as you may need to adapt some of the tips as listed above.

Removing stains

  • Remove grease, oil and tar (if it's fresh) with a little kerosene or turpentine
  • As a precaution against staining, wash and polish the area as soon as possible after removing the stain
  • Wash petrol off immediately with clean water
  • Never use petrol to clean painted or plastic surfaces
  • Use a rubbing or cutting compound sparingly and only when the gloss of the paint has reduced

Polishing paint work

  • The use of a polymer glaze approximately every 3 months will help protect your paintwork
  • Always wash your car before polishing
