Overview
Holden receives a large number of requests for Sponsorship so in order to use our financial resources wisely; the company has established the following guidelines and criteria for any application for Commercial Sponsorship.
Types of support
Commercial Sponsorship is defined as the purchase of (usually) intangible exploitable potential rights and benefits associated with an event, entrant or organisation which results in tangible benefits (increased brand awareness, communication or key messages or sales) for the sponsor.
A Commercial Sponsorship does NOT include the following:
- Donations, which are defined as either goods or money given with no expected return/benefits, or
- Grants, which are defined as a sum of money provided to an organisation for a specific purpose.
Sponsorship Guidelines
All requests for Commercial Sponsorship will be evaluated by the Sponsorship Co-ordinator to ascertain the appropriateness of the sponsorship based on the following criteria:
- Expected tangible benefits and or return on investment that will be received
- Consistency with Holden core business and brand values
- Use of intellectual property logo, trademarks, talent appearances, imagery
- Relevance of sponsorship activity to core business
- Leveraging opportunity of sponsorship through range of benefits including: naming rights, signage, PR, advertising etc
- Cost, timing and geographic spread of sponsorship
- Credibility of the organization seeking sponsorship
- Conflict with other sponsorship activities
- Potential for sponsorship to provide hospitality opportunities
Disqualifications
Holden Corporate does not provide Sponsorship of the following organisations or areas:
- Political or religious organizations
- Programs endorsing drug or alcohol use
- Programs that denigrate, exclude or offend minority community groups
- Programs that may present hazard to the community
- Programs that may present hazard to the environment
- Programs that do not reflect general community standards
Sponsorship programs undertaken will be consistent with Holden's desired corporate image and identity and normally undertaken within the geographic boundaries of Holden's market.
Application Procedure
Complete the application form and email, fax or mail it to Holden, together with a brief letter of introduction. We will not review requests sent by email which are not accompanied by a completed application form.
