Holden Engine Operations
Holden Engine Operations (HEO) is based at Port Melbourne, Victoria. It produces Global V6 engines for domestic and export markets.
Variants of the Global V6 engine power locally produced and imported Holden passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, including the VE series Calais, Berlina, Commodore, Sportwagon, Caprice, Statesman and Ute, Captiva and Colorado.
The Global V6 plant has three machining and sub-assembly lines which prepare blocks, crankshafts and cylinder heads before they are moved to a common line for final engine assembly.
Until it was de-commissioned in July 2009, Holden's Family II four-cylinder engine plant incorporated an engine design and engineering centre, an integrated foundry casting operation, component machining, engine assembly and tooling operations.
