Apprenticeships

Holden recognises that its success relies heavily on the quality of its trades people.

Each year, Holden is committed to offering a number of first year apprentice positions in both South Australia and Victoria. Apprenticeship programs can include but are not limited to toolmaking, engineering trades (both electrical and mechanical), automotive mechanics and instrumentation technicians.

These four-year contracts commence in January each year. Successful candidates will receive on the job training in the relevant vocation and the opportunity to obtain a Certificate III qualification at a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) of choice.

First year apprentices will be rotated through a variety of plants, locations and roles and are given state-of-the-art technology to work with. Apprentices are also given the opportunity to learn from some of the most experienced trades people in the business and are encouraged to undertake Certificate IV/V studies to round off post-trade skills.

Candidates interested in applying must have completed or currently be studying Year 11 with good results in Maths, English, Science and/or Technology. Completion of a pre-apprenticeship is also beneficial. You will be required to provide a current resume with the contact details of two referees, your school results, a letter stating your trade preference and why you feel you are suited to this vocation. Applications are invited for 2012 position mid year so please keep your eye out for upcoming details.
